COOKIE POLICY — adelie-creative.co.uk
Last updated: May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on adelie-creative.co.uk, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the website owner. Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other parties — such as analytics or advertising providers — are called third-party cookies.
2. The Legal Position
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, we must obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. We do this through our cookie banner when you first visit the site.
The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 introduced a limited analytics exemption: where analytics cookies collect only aggregate, anonymised data used solely to improve the website — and an opt-out is available — explicit consent may not be required. We have configured our Google Analytics 4 setup to use this exemption where possible. All advertising and tracking cookies require your explicit consent.
3. Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off. Your consent is not required for these cookies.
squarespace-visitor-id | Squarespace Session management and security. Set by Squarespace to maintain your session and protect against cross-site request forgery.
ss_cvr, ss_cvisit | Squarespace Squarespace visitor recognition used for internal aggregate analytics. No personal identification.
crumb | Squarespace Security cookie used to prevent cross-site request forgery on form submissions.
Analytics cookies (aggregate — opt-out available)
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website by collecting aggregated, anonymised data. Under the analytics exemption introduced by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, these may be set without prior consent provided an opt-out is available. We have configured GA4 to collect aggregate data only, with IP anonymisation enabled and advertising features disabled.
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | First-party Distinguishes unique users. Stores a randomly generated client ID. Expires after 2 years.
ga[ID] | Google Analytics 4 | First-party Used to persist session state. Expires after 2 years.
_gid | Google Analytics 4 | First-party Distinguishes users. Expires after 24 hours.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or decline analytics cookies via our cookie banner.
Advertising and measurement cookies (consent required)
These cookies are set only when you accept advertising cookies via our cookie banner. They are used to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns. They do not enable us to identify you personally.
gclaw, gclau | Google Ads | Third-party Google Ads conversion tracking. Records when a user has clicked an ad and subsequently completed a conversion action on our website, such as submitting a contact form. Expires after 90 days.
_fbp | Meta (Facebook) | Third-party Meta pixel. Used to deliver, measure, and improve the relevance of advertising on Meta platforms. Expires after 90 days.
fbc | Meta (Facebook) | Third-party Stores the last Meta ad click. Used in combination with fbp to link ad clicks to conversions. Expires after 90 days.
These cookies are only set with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by updating your cookie preferences below.
4. Consent Mode
Our website uses Google Consent Mode v2. This means that if you decline advertising cookies, Google Ads conversion tags will not set cookies and will not collect personal data. Aggregated, cookieless conversion modelling may still occur within Google's own systems to help advertisers understand campaign performance at a statistical level — this does not involve the use of your personal data.
5. How to Control Cookies
You can manage your cookie preferences in several ways:
Cookie banner: when you first visit our website you will be shown a cookie banner. You can accept all, decline non-essential cookies, or manage preferences by category.
Update preferences: change your settings at any time by clicking the cookie preferences link in the footer of our website.
Browser settings: most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. Consult your browser's help documentation for instructions.
Google Analytics opt-out: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Meta ad preferences: manage your preferences at facebook.com/ads/preferences.
Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of this website.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or changes in the law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
